Everyone loves a good renovation, but there's just something so special about the restoration of a historic home. Rocky Westfall, one of our Purcellville agents, had the privilege of listing this home prior to its facelift last year. Of course, it had character: a partially stone exterior with custom trim, wood floors, multiple fireplaces, all sitting on 50 scenic acres just moments from historic Downtown Warrenton. However, even with all of its beauty and detail, there was room for improvement.
In an effort to update, the owners completed an unbelievable makeover - and we're so excited to share it! Among the very long list of modifications were a rebuilt stone wall, refinished and new floors, new light fixtures, all new kitchen and bathrooms, newly added upper-floor laundry room, a completely redesigned and constructed master bedroom suite, and a new powder room on the main level.
Below are highlights of our favorite upgrades. We hope you enjoy these before and after photos as much as we did. For those interested, this incredible home is available for purchase. For all inquiries, see Rocky's information at the end of this post.

ENTRYWAY
The entryway featured custom molding seen throughout the hall and staircase. During the renovation, everything received a fresh coat of paint, highlighting these historic features with a slightly more modern and clean look.
---
MASTER SUITE
It's no mistake we don't have before pictures for this area. The entire master suite was constructed from other existing rooms on the upper floor. A spacious, bright bedroom, large walk-in closet, and spa-like bathroom complete with soaking tub now make up a master suite fit for queen.
---
LIVING ROOM
The main living area received a huge overhaul. The large stone hearth was preserved, the built-ins removed, and recessed lighting added to provide a more open and bright feel.
---
LIVING ROOM/KITCHEN TRANSITION
The slightly awkward transition from the living room to the kitchen was opened up, and all the better for entertaining and enjoying the view of the out-of-this world kitchen.
---
KITCHEN
The kitchen is our favorite room by far. The previous kitchen just didn't do justice to the history and beauty of the rest of the house. The choices made in the renovation, however, provide a classic feel with modern appliances and amenities for a transformation that rivals any Fixer Upper project.
You can see both listing options here and here. If you're interested in purchasing this one-of-a-kind home in person, reach out to Rocky Westfall with questions and showing requests.
