We’ve been talking for months about how fast the market is moving. It seems that inventory just keeps getting harder and harder to find! Last week we talked about buyers, but how should sellers be looking at this market?
There are several things sellers will want to keep in mind when putting their house on the market:
Plan to move quickly. Start packing before you list so that your house will show well and you’re ready to make your move as soon as you need to.
Know where you want to be. Be sure to talk to your agent about what your purchasing wishes are and have a contingency plan in place if you can’t find your perfect new home right away. And speaking of contingencies…
Consider a rent back situation. If you’re concerned about a quick timeframe or need some additional time to find your new place, your agent can help you to include the right wording into your contract to ensure you have the buffer you need.
This week, our Just Listed is a little shorter than usual, with two homes already under contract – after less than a day on the market. The first on the list had multiple offers for buyers who hadn’t stepped foot on the property! Things are getting crazy out there, so if you didn’t think now would be a good time to sell, you should REALLY talk to an agent about how much your home may be worth – you might be pleasantly surprised.
